OK my iDrive shows 38K miles to DPF Filter needed replacement. What steps are needed or taken once warning light comes on at approx 1k?

Do any you guys do any of the below, I am looking for suggestions and the costs involved

Replace with BMW part?
Replace with cross pipe instead of DPF?
Clean the existing DPF with correct cleaning agents?

I have about the same mileage to go and will be going for option 4:

Reset the service interval and ignore it unless the DPF actually gives a problem

Option 1. What Anzafin did, OR
Option 2. Clean with TUNAP, a specialty chemical for cleaning the DPF without removing it. This can be done only at a workshop, as the process is not quite straight-forward, plus the chemical is sold only to workshops. Call/send email to the company (www.tunap.de) to ask if there is a workshop near you, which offers the service.
I did this second option in November last year (2K miles were left for the DPF on the iDrive) and so far everything is fine. Cost: ca.200 GBP, maybe a bit less.
