I can no longer unlock/lock with my FOB, need to do it manually. However, is it normal that the settings remain (radio, seats, etc...) remain per the last time it worked? For example, my radio remains on Aux every time I enter the car even though I change to CD or Radio?

I will get the tailgate wiring checked out on Monday (diversity antenna is new and a year old). Could broken wires affect the FOB and hence the personal settings?

 

Your symptoms are similar to mine when my tailgate harness wires failed last year.

 

Took my car in to the mechanic and the wiring harnesses are in really bad shape. Many spliced wires and he's suggesting to change the harnesses completely.

 

Funny how we've become pretty good at diagnosing our cars' faults before even opening things up! That's what I had said!

So it sounds like the previous owner had already done some repairs on it?
