Default Did the E61 have a non-slide sunroof?

I recently purchased a 2007 530i Touring with a panoramic sunroof. However, the sunroof only tilts. I assumed this was a fault so took it to my local specialist but they say that it's a non-slide sunroof, it just tilts. Did BMW make a panoramic sunroof that doesn't slide for this model? The specialist did no exploratory work, and I can't help but think they're wrong.

It's very odd, as the sunshade also doesn't go all the way back, it stops about half way, meaning the rear half of the sunroof would never be seen. I just can't imagine why BMW would design a sunroof like this - surely it's faulty.

Any assistance very welcome indeed!
