Do you have any experience on coilovers for E61? I'm looking for a setup which is on comfort side, so extremely low and firm setups do not interest me. Even some coilovers are too stiff in their softest setting.

Comments, links!?

On my old Audi S3 I had bilstein coilovers and they were rock hard and very very harsh. I had a big rear anti roll bar on it too and it handled well on a smooth road but on average roads it was twitchy and uncomfortable which was fine if you were in the mood but if you just wanted to get home briskly it sucked!

Got a set of V-maxx coilovers on our 150PD golf and they are fairly comfortable. Definately stiffer than standard. I noticed the rebound stiffness is very good and it corners with far less body roll. Have a big rear bar on the golf too but before the coilovers I felt it still rolled a bit much. Coilovers seem to have helped this a lot.

V-maxx are very good value for money and I've heard they are the ones to go for for comfort. E61 is a bit odd though as you'd only need the front set up due to the rear air suspension.... in theory that should mean its cheaper.

If you want to lower the rear check out my DIY guide somewhere in the DIY section.
