CO2 emmisions
#1
This one is a question for UK owners, where our government have decided to tax cars based on grams CO2 / km. I have a 535d touring, it is an LCI from June 2007. The registration document, that decides the taxation band, says that the emissions are 186 g/Km. The government online checking service says that a 535d is 182g/Km. The higher figure pushes me into the next tax band.
Could any other UK 535d owners let me know what is on their V5 (reg document)? If this is an error by the DVLA, does anybody know how I can go about getting it corrected?
I checked my owner's manual and it seems to have very little information in the specifications section other than dimensions and weights.
Thanks for your help.

The Saloon is 182 the Touring is 186 - post LCI
Pre-LCI, saloon is 211 the Touring is 216
So it will cost you an extra £35 p.a. for the Touring over the Saloon for a post LCI from April, and all pre-LCI's will be a further £10 premium over the post-LCI Touring rate.
It's turning into nothing more than another way to tax the wealthy - would £1k p.a. car tax really stop you buying that new Murcielago ???? I'd suggest that the highest band vehicles would, on average, do the least annual mileage - hence any 'climate effect' from their emissions is negated by their sparing use.
