Default Changing Front Differential 3.46 vs 3.91

Hi I am looking for some wisdom on front difs. I have a 535xi 2008 wagon lci. My front differential needs to be changed. I got a used low milage front differential from an e90 the gearing is 3.46...is that compatible with our original differential ? Is it possible that some are 3.91? Does anyone know what the stock gearing on our cars are? Does not have to be the same as the rear? Confused.

RealOEM typically answers all questions as far as compatibility goes.
