Had a weird tire failure today. The right rear Goodyear Eagle RSA has had a slow leak for the last few days. We've topped it off a few times to keep the TPMS screen from scolding us and I was going to get it checked this coming week when today the tire went completely flat on my wife. So I went to change it out (thanks for a spare on our cars, BMW!) and was dumbfounded to see our 22,000 mile car had worn a hole in the tire!
The tire actually looks like it was flat-spotted, 85% of it looks pretty good, but 15% of its inner tread is all threads and steel belts. I've got another tire with a bulge... so I really need to buy 2, but I planned on fitting Blizzaks to the factory 17" this fall and buying a sweet set of 18s next spring with summer tires.
Instead, I'll be buying the 18s tomorrow! Pittsburgh has some pretty rough roads so I can't see the risk of bending 19s.
I think I've narrowed it down to Beyern Meshes from Discount Tire with Yokohama S.drive tires, with new TMPS sensors and shiny wheel bolts fro $1686 delivered or Breyton Race GTSs with Bridgestone Potenza RE760 sports with sensors for $1949 with shipping.
Any words of wisdom before I give them the number on my Visa card?

Breyton Race GTs is a great looking wheel, and what I've seen from tyre tests the Bridgestone is superior to the Yokohama, so I would go for this option. Good luck with the purchase!
