Since we didn't want Cars or Hello Kitty sun blinds for our kid, and the car doesn't got the OEM roller blinds in the rear doors, I bought some sun blinds made for the car.

The set came in 8 pieces in a little bag, two for the doors, one for each back window and two pieces for the rear window. I know BMW sell these to, but for the 1/4 of the price I was willing to give these a chance. However, you can order the ones from BMW separately, so if you only need one or two, that may be a solution.

The fitment in the doors was okey, could be better, but could be a lot worse to. I didn't get the small pieces that should hold them in place to sit properly, so I just mounted them without. I just hope nobody opens the rear windows in speed. The fitment of the ones for the back windows was perfect. I haven't testet the last two, since I propably won't fit them anyway.

My car has OEM tinting aswell, so its a bit dark, but the main reason I bought these was for the sun, not for looks.

Sorry for the bad pics.

Never mind the shades, what colour is that car? I have never seen one before like that.
Seriously, where did you get the shades, they look good.

I bought the sun blinds from NM Motorsport, but you can get them from eBay and other stores to. I paid £130 plus freight and norwegian taxes.

The car is Imola red II, and I posted some pictures of it in this thread.

Here is another picture that show how dark the windows is now:

It's factory tint with the sun blinds inside, so I have no idea. I don't know what the factory tint is, around 50% maybe?

God job. I love the sun shades/blinds/screens. I got the bmw set which has a single large section for the rear hatch and for the side doors it uses one section too. I really do like them, combined with a legal 32% tint, you basically can't see into the car at all unless it's dark outside and the lights are on inside.

For all you US people, here is how the BMW set looks from a distance:

Our car comes with the optional blinds for the rear doors, that are integrated into the window frames, so they roll out and roll back into the frames, which is very cool. The ones above pop in as one piece I assume, and are already extended? Or are they a retrofit of the OEM option and roll in and out?

For the trunk area windows and the hatch, I didn't realize there are shades you can get that just pop into the window frame. Is that how they go in, or do they roll into a frame? Any details on them, like cost? This is what I saw in the UK accessories brochure, which are not cheap! So is that going to cost me 250 pounds?

Specification | Part number | Price from

Touring - rear screen | 51 46 0 393 422 | ?105.00
Touring - rear side | 51 46 0 395 891 | ?150.00
Touring - side windows | 51 46 0 393 423 | ?180.00

Thats fantastic!! Thank you so much for the post!
I had to order them right away after looking at your car and the video on the NM-motorsport webpage.
I just wish I had seen this 5 years ago, when I bought the car..
And I agree with you, hello kitty or similar sunshades does not belong on such a car!
