Hi there,

I would like to ask, if someone has had the similar problem. Two days ago I visited Hamann Motorsport and they could not allegedly remap the ECU, because of the error message with "BOOST PRESSURE REGULATION". I have a BMW E61 535D and donīt feel any loosing power. Just wondering what the error message means. The error message has been deleted and never came up again. Do you have any ideas?

MAybe your car has problems when it comes to control the pressure!

Does it enter in safe mode? Did you have any positive or negative deviation on the boost pressure?

Have you checked the turbo system for leaks? Sometimes they happen in the manifold and thereby, the car canīt make the boost required when remaped!

Thank you very much for your ideas. The car is not in the SAFE MODE. I would definitely feel it when accelerate. Try to check the turbo system if not leaking and manifold intake. I have changed the crankcase ventilation filter just to eliminate this possibility.

My 535d had an "overboost" fault. It only happened under maximum acceleration at over 130mph (obviously not on a public road). The problem was a broken vacuum hose which meant the wastegate valve wouldn't open.

Having solved the problem and replaced all the turbo vacuum hoses I've noticed it's quite a common problem. The vacuum hoses are rubber and snake around the turbo and exhaust manifold - after 4 or 5 years they're brittle and need replacing.
