Hi all - I noticed that the BMW dealership offers a "Value Service" oil change for $99. Has anyone tried this or know what kind of oil they use? Not sure if they account for the age/mileage of the vehicle when selecting an oil or if they just use the same kind of "value" oil for any vehicle buying this service. This would be for a 2006 530xi N52 engine with 115,000 miles. Thanks!

'Value Line,' are the only products listed in the parts catalog. All fluids are labeled this way. The part numbers translate to the genuine product, nothing low-value or sub-standard. Perhaps it does not translate well from German, or it is a marketing term.
I.e., Value Line transmission fluid translates to genuine ZF Lifeguard 6. Hydraulic fluid is genuine Pentosin CHF.
Personally, I think the $99 oil change is a hidden bargain. They always give a laundry list of things to be done, which I politely decline, go home and fix them myself. Win-win.

Thanks for the info, Greggo - appreciate the response. I'll post my experience with the service and oil used.
