Is BMW taking repair responsibility for water damage sunroof??
So, it has rained a lot in Chicago! My car has developed a small pool in the wheel well, luckily I have drained it before much damage, so far only my air suspension isn't working (fuses are fine and jumping relay won't start the compressor). Based on attached article, do we have evidence that BMW is fixing this issue?

"Any affected BMW owner who incurred any out-of-pocket expense for repairs prior to the end of the claims submission period will be entitled to submit a claim for reimbursement of those repair expenses, up to $1,500, with proof of those prior repairs."
The way I read it repairs made prior to the settlement are covered. Might be more difficult now because the settlement puts the rest of us "on notice".

It seems like they have approved the deal. in fact, it seems like you can take your car to the dealer for diagnostics and correction...from what I quickly read last night:
For more information about the settlement and claims go to Details on settlement

That's good information. Says every '04 to '10 owner can be a part of the settlement...Claims must be postmarked or submitted online on or before June 28, 2017...so the window of opportunity to be covered is closing quickly.

I just got my claims paperwork in the mail today. I am going to file a claim for the repairs to be done. It sux because my TCU just went out and the settlement date is July 28, 2017. I am now running around in silence.... J

If I understood the documents correctly, for inspection/relocation of components, no claim is needed. Once the settlement has been approved, you can make an appointment at the dealer to have inspection/relocation done. I wonder if dealers are going to know anything about it and whether BMW NA will notify the owners.

I was at the dealer this morning, as it happens. They are aware of the lawsuit but not doing anything until it is settled. Asking them to do it now will be billed out of pocket and hopefully reimbursed later. As I read the lawsuit, the claims were limited to $1500 and prior repairs sent in as claims have to have proof of payment. I'm SOL on that last bit even though BMW did the radio replacement as non-warranty for water damage since I don't have a receipt that I can find.

I think the part that hurts me is.. that it must have less than 120,000 miles too.. which I'm waaay over it now. My electronics haven't been relocated but.. I don't think I'll have clogged drains either because of my working downtown and living at home isn't prone to the junk getting collected.
