Default BMW E61 drops to N

Hello Guys!

I’m facing with the following problem:
Sometimes, while I driving my car the transmission at a speed of 40-60 km/h it starts to shift gears really hard (mainly during acceleration, downshifts are ok) and then when I make a full stop at the traffic lihg the car just shifts to neutral or shuts down the engine.(see photo) When I tke the key out wait for 1-2 min put the key back and evrything is fine, all warning lamp dissapears.

I connected INPA and there was three types of error in the transmission IM Memory: (all other memory was clear)

What kind of service has the transmission had? If none, I'd suggest doing the full "Mechatronics refresh" (lots of posts / info on that here and elsewhere). 313K km is a lot of miles if it's not been serviced, and that sounds like dirty / low fluid and/or plugged up shift solenoids. At a glance, that is... don't spend a lot of money based on this post. ;-)

Hey!

Thank you for your thoughts, we own the car since it was new, my father bought it and I took it over whet it had 300k km in counter. At 250k km the gearbox got a full rebuild, evrything was changed in it. I have seen several posts saying that, the camshaft sensor can make some gearbox malfunctions, but the error codes do not mach to this theory.

i hope anyone have some other idea.

Cheers

I can't imagine a camshaft sensor doing anything to the transmission at all. With a full rebuild, the question becomes one of what the rebuilder did (or didn't do) when rebuilding the transmission. FWIW, it's very unusual to have to rebuild one of these ZF trannies - they're really rugged. Yes, you will have to refresh the Mechatronics and maybe swap out a solenoid or two - but a full rebuild is the exception to the rule.
