Anybody running MHD flash?

I sold my JB4 and going to run a MHD flash. Just wanted to see if anybody here is running straight MHD? If so how do you like it?

pocholin 10-26-2016 05:09 PM

Love it! Easy to do and to take out if needed. The only "down side" to it is that you need to invest on a battery maintainer for first time write of MHD.

Yes I run the first level MHD flash. I love it as well.

Either of you run a jb4 before MHD? Any comparisons?

pocholin 10-27-2016 04:57 PM

I had Procede (Vishnu), which was an early competitor of the piggy backs, loved it as well, but it was a pain having to take it out every time I took the car to the dealer for any warranty repair. I like the ability, and ease, to change settings in MHD like remove the kick down sensor, linear boost vs gradual, choose the amount of boost per gear (the first 4 gears), etc. You can also add the monitor/logging module (another $50), read engine trouble codes and clear them.

I am. Need to nail down an intermittent 30FF but I like it.

Now I am consider to switch from Cobb V3 to MHD.........
Should I?

Mrmandmman 10-28-2016 10:11 AM

If you can sell the Cobb it might cover the MHD. Not sure if it's worth it as I haven't run a Cobb tune. I hear Cobb stopped work on the platform while MHD continues to evolve.

Stroked & Blown 10-28-2016 11:13 AM

From what I understand, Marshall (of MHD) previously worked at Cobb as the N54 developer.

I run MHD with a custom map in my car as well as any car that I build. I use the common setup of a CD slot mount and tablet to log and view gauges. I am more then happy with MHD and always recommend it.

Coming from JB4

Ran JB4 on e92 stock for a few years. Recently switched to the e60 and flashed MHD. Not sure if its the e60 body, but MHD feels smoother between gears and throughout. Much more power in the lower gears as well. Don't need to WOT to feel the power.

What OBD cable did you use to flash MHD. Finally got my car running right and want to flash now

Mrmandmman 12-02-2016 06:07 AM

You need an OTG USB cable and a OTG capable phone or tablet too.

JNJ 12-03-2016 04:10 PM

Do I need the 40 or 70 dollar cable? What's the difference?

Mrmandmman 12-03-2016 04:30 PM

I think the difference is the $70 ships anywhere in the world and the $40 ships in the U.S.

Can we reset the warning light while driving like the Cobb?
I am about to get into MHD flash but not sure about the reset warning light.
Thanks!

Mrmandmman 02-26-2017 03:14 PM

You can reset codes while the car is running.

gamblinfool 03-08-2017 03:20 PM

Just flashed mine. WOW, what a difference! Definite increase in power and wonderful throttle response. Even seems to run smoother under lighter loads and cruising speeds!
