Hello, everyone
I’m a new user here, been searching all over the web and don’t seem to find a concrete answer for this.
I have my E61 LCI with the panoramic sunroof and the antitrap function error came up. It just came up while driving, sunroof was not open. So i parked at home at wanted to check if it opens up. Tried to do it, it just opened up in the vented position.
after reading all around the web, everyone is saying reset it by pressing the tilt button for over 15 seconds. That did not do anything, I can hear it tries to close up, but it doesn’t.
so i called my mechanic, he got his fancy OBD scanner and somehow managed to close it.
so now i am scared to try an reset it by holding the tilt button, as it may be stuck again in the venting position and living in the UK, it rains a lot and can’t risk it, but we still have some great sunny days and would love to open up the sunroof.
it was working fine, never had an issue with it.
my e61 is a 520d, if it helps with anything.
once had the antitrap issue with one of my windows, and holding the windows button for 10 seconds worked.
also, if some of you guys know, the e61 with panoramic sunroof has the large cover that opens up under the glass, and when you have sunroof in the vented position, that cover opens up in the middle. So now that the sunroof is closed, that middle part of the cover remained opened.
any help would be appreciated.
thank you!

I had to reset mine, but it wasn't like you stated.
I had to do mine all the way open, then all the way closed. I don't remember the exact procedure. Its been awhile.

Do you get rain in yours when it's tilted up? Mine is tilted up on our E61 24/7 and we live in British Columbia on the coast where it rains a lot. Never had any water come in that I'm aware of.
