Hi gang,
My first post as a newbie and I'm really diggin' the info on here.
I have an '06 750Li and have removed the factory wheels and put 22's on. I have given the car to my wife and just bought an '09 535xi wagon and was wondering if anyone knows if the 7series wheels will fit on the E61. Tire size on the 7 series are 245 45 R19 and the factory tires on the E61 are 245 40 R18. I'm not at all familiar with how these may relate or if I'm asking for trouble.
I'm also interested in maybe lowering the car with different springs but if there are 4 people in the car and a bit of cargo, will I run the risk of constant rubbing?
Bob

I do doubt it.

It's all about ET's.

The xi E61 needs specific ET's.

I doubt it will work due to a combination of the wheel offset and tire sizes. If your 7 came with 245-45-19 tires, than arent the rear tires 275-40-19 also? Post pics of your 7 in our new 7 series section. I wanna see. :D

Hello uspastime,

Your 7 series wheels will not fit on your xi touring. XI's need to have a hig offset or ET of at least 43.

7 series wheels are a low offset of either 15 to 25. It should tell you on the inside of the wheels. Look for some stamping of the wheel size and you will see either ET then a number, eg ET47 or an IS number, eg IS47.

Many 3 series wheels that are not staggered, the same size for all wheels, might work for you. Alot of 3 series wheels have an offset between 40 and 47. Since this measurement is in millimeters, you should be ok.

Low offset wheels will rub the inside the suspension and wheel wells and cause all kinds of problems.

Hope this answers your questions.

Got any pics of your 09?

Thanks

ajohn responded to my request for information for wheels/tires for our 530 xit.

We were mislead by a store that had used 5 series rims to sell, mounted with snowtires. We had them mounted. Quickly took them off! We found used rims and snowtires that were mounted on a 5 series sedan, an E60X I believe.

It made all the difference.
