Hi new member here.

I'm looking into getting a 2007 530xiT and I wanted to know if the sport package is the same for the Touring as the 530xi Sedan? I've looked around a couple of dealers in my area but haven't seen a Touring with a sport pack yet. What does the sport steering wheel look like? Also, if you get the cold weather package, do you still get the sport steering wheel? Any pictures and help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I do not know how is in the US but I would tend to say that the Msport package is the same both for sedan than touring. Steering wheel is great. Why shouldn't you get the M sport wheel with the cold weather package.

In Europe the M-sport package is really good, with improved handling and different look interior/exterior.

For the US, M-sport is just dealer fitted body work. That's it. No interior changes, no m-sport chassi. Also, for the xi, ride height is pushed up 15mm compared to standard, 30mm higher than the Euro m-sport.

in US there's not even a M-Sport suspension?! there's just the body kit with the M-wheel?

I don't think they even get the m-wheel, just the plastics. There is the choice of sports suspension, but this is 1) not the same as m-sport suspension 2) not available on touring due to the fact that all tourings are xi in USA.

Strange and bad IMHO.

My Ride: 535ixT On Order: 2010 E61, Ordered 1/05, Est. Birth 3/09, Est. Delivery 4/09, Carbon Black, Cream Beige Dakota Leather, Steptronic, M-Sport Pkg., Type 135 18

The US 530xiT Sport Pack is largely cosmetic. Comfort Seats (Sport Seats before '07), Shadow-Line trim (black out) around the windows and an option to buy 18" style 123 wheels at a reasonable price.

I went for it on my '06 520xiT for the 18" wheels and high performance tires - I now regret not getting the Comfort Seats, because the heads rests on my Sport Seats are terrible. (My fall project is to install Comfort Seat headrests.) The Sport Pac does not include the M-Sport steering wheel.

The real shame is that BMW chose not to upgrade the suspension - I for one would like a stiffer ant-roll bar. Though in real-world driving I find my speed somewhat higher than in my 1991 M5 (perhaps because it is more isolated from road noise), I would rather have a suspension with a more sporty feel.

I have searched for suspension upgrades ? but have found nothing that I would trust. That, I think, is due to the X-Drive and the auto-leveling suspension in the rear.

Thanks for the info and pictures. I didn't know if you get the cold weather package if the sport steering wheel gets deleted because of the heated steering wheel option in the cold weather package.

By the way your car looks very nice!

For the 2007 MY 530xiT, it also includes the sport steering wheel, so yes, totally MINOR cosmetic changes that have nothing to do with the overall handling of the car.

I don't think it would be any problems to get both the M-pack and the coldweather package. Here in Sweden you can get heated as option to all versions of steeringwheel.

A strange fact is that here in the land of 6months with snow and ice, the heated steeringwheel is a separate and not that popular option!

Is it the sport or the m-sport steering wheel? The sport looks better IMHO but the m-sport is all black and has these lovely "thumb-bumps" on the rim.
