2008 535xi Audio Quality

Hey there - first post to 5series.net - have been enjoying my car and watching a few other forums. Just came to this CPO a year ago after 6 years in a Audi Allroad.
Right now the only thing we can't fix or track down on the 535 is the audio quality. The dealer replaced the diversity antenna, sealed everything for water, replaced the satellite module, but still, audio quality on Sat or FM sounds like a 1985 tape recording. There's just no fidelity.
The dealer humored me the first time and replaced the things noted above, when we took it back they wrote on the servie ticket "Satellite audio is compressed and will not have high audio quality" I'd love to send this to Sirius and have them charge the dealer with slander... I know from using Sirius in another car and on my boat - the audio quality rocks - so it's just my dealer who thinks crappy quality is Ok for a BMW.
Sorry for the rant - if anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate hearing them. If everyone accepts that the OEM audio is crap, then I guess I'm out of luck.

Cannot comment on Sirius as we don't use it over here in Europe, but I can easily chime in the ranting on the standard audio... It needs a serious upgrade!

Sirius sucks, no matter what audio system you have, standard or premium. I've heard it on both (as I have both).
There are instructions on the board on how to upgrade the E60/61 audio system, including putting new subs in.
That's what I'd do if I wanted to improve stuff.

Can't comment on Sat radio, but HD Radio in my car sounds fabulous with Logic 7 ![Thumbsup](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/thumbsup.gif)
My previous ride was 2004 Acura TL with ELS Audio system (DVD-Audio), and it rocked, except for stock sub.
Now Logic 7 sounds like it has decent stock speakers and 2 subs, but it does not provide the same separation as DVD-A format.
Overall I am glad I finally located E61 with Logic 7

Sorry to say but OEM audio system sounds like crap. There are several options for improvement though. Cheapest IMO is adding a sub and aftermarket amp to provide the bass most desperately missing from the stock audio. Search the forums for many more ideas.
