16" snowtires?

I have some snow tires from my e46 that are style 42 wheels (16 inch). Will they fit over the brakes on the e60/61? We really don't have significant snow in the Seattle area but I make occasional trips to the mountains where they come in handy.

All X-Models get 17" or 18" wheels from factory. Here in Finland all legally allowed sizes are listed in registration book and they from 17" to 19" for X-models.
But If you have 16" in garage, why not test if they fit over front brakes? E46 wheels has the right ET figure for X-models.

That being said, if you have the wheels, try 'em on... I'd be happy to be proved wrong.

I'm running 16" wheels and winter tyres on mine - not sure of the style but you can see them in the pic below. There's no probs with mine and in fact, while I think the wheels are actually 3-series wheels, they are the recommended winter wheels for a 5-series from BMW.
Like the poster above though, I don't have X drive.
