My Ride: 525d black on black sport seats, shadow line rear and side sunshades, sport wheel, brushed aluminium interior trim, sunroof, ......

Hello all,

i wish to congratulate everybody on this forum for its been very help full.

I am from Tunisia, North africa and a "happy" owner of a 525d, 177 hp, i know that alll of you from the US will freak out but trust me this is enough hp for tunisia of europe.

I lived in Los angeles for 5 years and i know that difference between gas and diesel engines but trust me money wise its better to have a 525d here in Tunisia.

I have been having tons of problems with my car though, it started with noise coming from the fromt tires when i make sudden tunrs or move the wheel.

a new sound is now coming from the engine when it rains it sounds like the gear doesnt go in smoothly i hear a weired sound and then the engine picks up in rpms.

then it was the software and then noise from the engine. The warranty here in tunisia is only 2 years after that everything will be on me (keeping in mind that bmw are considered luxury cars and therefore over-taxed)

what drives me nuts is that evertime i take it to the dealership something new comes up I am starting to think that i should take my car, sail away to teh south of france (24hrs by ferry) and get it repairted down there.

anybody having a 525d with the same problems please help !!!

about the car 525d black on black sport seats, shadow line rear and side sunshades, sport wheel, brushed aluminium interior trim, sunroof, ......

Welcome aboard hedikmn

I have a 525d (12/04) but the only 'weird'sounds I have, is with the regeneration cycle.

Good luck with your problems.

I think it's just bad luck.
There's not many known problems with the 525d specifically.
Mostly it's just general annoyances like cupholders, or noisy doors.

I'd advice you to take a little Holliday to France if you don't trust your own dealer.
Get in contact with a good dealer before you go!

hedikmn,

welcome on board

I can image there aren't too many BMW dealers in Tunesia. perhaps the Tunesian BMW importer or agent is willing to service your car directly ?

succes, keep on smiling and enjoy the car
