Dont understand why some people here are wanting to put red reflectors in the rear bumper. All E46 guys paint them..... Looks cleaner without them.......

I like them too. Bmw is so weird. On the 3 series e46 coup? they put the rear reflectors to make it more sporty. On a 5 series they do the opposite. Standard 5 series get them, but with m pack not.
My car got the m-pack, but I like the standard bumper more just because of the two reflectors. It just make the rear side less plain.
It's really a matter of taste.

I'm with you, but we're a definite minority here. Now, when the US psec was unpainted and not red, that was ugly. But I rather like the painted style.

It seems like if you have the reflectors, you wish you had the painted inserts and if you have the inserts, you wish you had the reflectors...
If I had the standard bumper I would use the reflectors. For me it depends on the car and bumper. I've seen cars that have them that just don't look right.

As an unbroken field of color the Bangle rear is too trunk-heavy. The red reflectors break it up, making the butt seem less bulky and tall.

As you said.. for the E46. Differnt cars so they look different. I prefer no Red Reflectors on the E46 but I like the Red Reflectors on the E60.
