Wheel/Tire/Fender Roll Question
#12
Thanks for the help. At this point I've got a couple people saying that 275 is the safe route, while another says 275 is not wide enough for the wheel itself and will be stretched too much..what do you think?

I've recently bought a set of Breyton's without tires, and I'm wondering what profile/diameter tires I should run to avoid rolling the fenders if I can. I've got a 2004 530i sport package. The wheels are 20x8.5 with an offset of ET13 up front and 20x10.5 with an offset of ET26 in the rear. If anybody can shed a little light on what tire width and height I should run, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!
275 / 30 / 20 in rear and 245 / 35 / 20 in front. You might have very slight rubbing but should be fine. The only other alternative is to go 25 sidewall in rear and 30 in front. But you most definitely don't want to put 285s on a non-M 5series.

Why?
I ran 285/25/20 on 20x10 et20 wheels, no problems.
Now I'm running 285/30/19 on 19x10 et20 rear wheels.

Are those wheels coming with the 18mm spacers they require?

Who is this question directed to? If it's to me, I was not made aware of needing any spacers, nor do I expect them to come with them. What leads you to believe that I will need 18mm spacers?

235/35 is as big as I would go up front with that offset. I have 245/35s and and the tire was getting into the fender lip and the liner. Rolled the fenders a tick but the tire still gets into the liner on some dips... But the worst noise I get when the front rubs is from my girlfriend's mouth...
A 275/30 on a 10.5 would give you a bit of a stretch, but you would most likely have ZERO rubbing issues. 275/30 on a 9.5 with an 18 offset and I have just the slightest issue in back on heavy dips and bad roads. The 275s offer so little rim protection as it is(on a 9.5), that I would take a little bit of stretch to get rid of the potential for rubbing. My next rear tire will be a 265/30, and a 235 up front, which I may do sooner than later.
The front is where I had the most issues, and my wheel tucks in 5mm more than the wheel you posted. The 235/35 is a bit closer to the stock rolling diameter, but even with the 245 and the 275, my speedo is only a half mph off checked by GPS. From my experience, a 245 on a 8.5" rim with a 13mm offset will be all kinds of into the fender lip.
All that said, I can't give you too much insight as to the rear, but I would definitley get a 235/35 for the front, wish I had. I'm on OEM sport suspension, BTW.
