The remap insurer notification thing has been done to death on here.

Are people equally divided about reporting after market changes to their insurers eg wheels, panels, exhausts?

I told Tesco and they cancelled the policy immediately ( ? 340 fully comp ) ........

Now with Adrian Flux insurance ( ?625 fully comp inc. all mods listed below )

A bit of a price hike but still ?340 cheaper than the M3

If it alters the performance of the car it 'should' be reported

Wheels that are available as an option from new spec and minor body panel alterations are not really a problem.

The problems come when you put things like 20 inch wheels on that are not a spec option for the car.

Most wheel changes are cosmetic.

The insurers I have had in the past want to know if you have changed wheels, or added a spoiler.

If its wheels that are fitted to bmw normally, then i dont suppose they would notice.

But, if you have a big claim and you give them something as an excuse.........

I would guess they would say 'bling wheels' make the car more likely to be stolen = greater risk

cheers
