Hi guys. I've ordered a 530i without the sport package and I want to swap the stock 17" wheels with the 124's as soon as the car arrives at the dealer. My question is, will there will be a noticeable performance/fuel economy hit with the larger 124's? Does anyone know their weight compared to the stock 17's? Thanks in advance.

Someone knows the weight of the 124 ?
I have lifted up with hands both 166 and 124 : the 124s are heavier the 166s!!!! At least 3 Kg each .

My Ride: 07 BMW 525i Premium Package, Xenon Lighting Package, manual Transmission. Titanium Grey, 20% Tint around the back, 70% V-Kool on front.
Planned mods: Style 71 wheels with Toyo Proxy 4 tires, Sachs suspension upgrade, upgraded stereo, and many more to come.
I believe that I read the OEM 18" 124 is close to 30-32 lbs each, along with the heavy runflat (over 30lbs), it's a heavy combo. My BBS 19" tire and wheel is like ~45lb total =P I still have the stock 138 and it's significantly heavier than my 19", even though my 19" is 245 front and 275 rear vs the 225 stock. I think the stock 17" is roughly 50-53lbs total, let me put it on my cheapo bathroom scale and see... The 124 looks nice, but I think it's on the heavy side. If you were to buy 124 and tires separately, I would just get the 166, since it's not much more than the 124, and it looks more sporty and the ride is still very good, and it should be lighter than the 124.

Thanks everyone for the all the info, sorry I haven't posted in a while, it's been hectic around here lately. I'll be buying the tires separately, so I guess the weight won't be that much heavier than stock- probably going to go with Pirelli all-seasons as I'm tired of switching between summer-winter tires on my current car.
I have one more question, though; can I buy 4 of the "front" wheels and run a non-staggered setup?

I was wondering, why didnt you order the sports package, you would get 18" rims, better suspension, and comfort seats...

So would there be any problems if I go with a non-staggered setup? (put 18x8 124's with 245/40/18 tires front and back?)

Now that I think about it, maybe I should have. But the main reason I did not see the need for it is that I drive alot, and mostly on the highway, so the softer suspension would be good for me. I'm coming from an Infiniti G35 coupe with very hard suspension and loud performance tires, so I'm looking for something more comfortable. And honestly the 530 I test drove without sport pack handled almost as well as the coupe, I was very impressed. I figure with the 18" wheels and 245 tires it would be comparable to the G35 but with a much quieter and softer ride.
So would there be any problems if I go with a non-staggered setup? (put 18x8 124's with 245/40/18 tires front and back?)
