I had the same problem last year and another member recommended to reset the sterring column by running it all the way up and when it stops press it up again as it will go a little further. Repeat this now for the down direction. After a few times and then I also moved the seat repositioned the tilt and selected a new preset. This seemed to get it back to where its supposed to be.

Pretty much betting it is your battery needing replacement. That motor will have moderately heavy pull on a weak battery and will not function. I had a number of similar issues on mine last yr after a day of working out with stereo on in garage. A recharge made the ignition fully functional and fine, however, small incidental issues, such as the steering tilt on exit appeared. Have battery checked. If it is anywhere near replacement time, regardless of test results, replace it. Worst case is you have a New battery a little early. Not a bad thing plus won't be wasted $ either way.

I didn't even paid attention to my steering wheel going up til I read this thread. Mine didn't move up, just tried the tip above and now it's fine again.

Gotta love it when you discover a fix on the forum. I was frustrated that my wheel remembered too low a position, would not 'listen' to resets, and never moved out of the way on exit. It's done this since I bought the car, but I knew from other test drives that it wasn't right. Just now, I did the trick of moving to top and bottom (and in and out). This reset worked perfectly. I now have a wheel that remembers its position AND moves out of the way. Thank You!!
