Question The standard stereo - sound in subs when fading sound front to back

Hello all!

I hope this is the right place for this topic - otherwise maybe someone could correct my mistake!

Ok, english is not my native language, so have patience with me...

The thing is I am reading around the internet about upgrading the sound in the E60. I have the standard stereo, the one with no tweeters. My plan is to buy only the tweeters and the bigger subwoofers used or something like that. Not installing an amp. Maybe, if it really is needed I might go for the amp to, since I actually got an blaupunkt 2ch one around.

However, what I need to know, since I cannot understand how this works: Everywhere I read, it is stated that the subwoofers are connected in parallel with the mains in the front system. But how come then that when I fade the sound to the rear, the subs still play - just a little weaker. Then, when fading to the front - passing "center" when the subs plays at normal - they also sound equally weak.
It cannot be that easy as they are only connected to the front's.
There must be some kind of bridging done to this. Is that why there are a 4 pin connector on the 6.5" subs and only 2 on the 8"? I have not checked this out myself, but I have read it somewhere around here.

Any advice please And also, this will for now be a bit theoretical since I am in another project with a home sub, so not much money will be put into this right now..

Best regards!
