How did you ID a pre-LCI cluster just from looking at that photo?!?! I've done the LCI cluster retrofit and have everything working, but I want to learn your Jedi magic!

Hi Guys,

I'm just confused with one thing, so maybe someone could clear up.

The single wire which comes to the fuse Box in Pin 11.

IS there already a cable in the Pin 11? And if yes. HOW do I connect the Single Wire coming from szl to that cable? Just Cut it and fuse with the end coming to pin 11?

Whats with the other end of that cable then? Where is it coming from and won't it be needed anymore?

Thanks for clearing up!

I did this recently and wanted to share how I got it to work, I did this on an E61 535xi, no parts were changed, we left the stock shifter.

The process that worked in the end was this,

remove $205 and add $2TB to the CAS and LMA then run SG_Codieren on the KOMBI all with NCS expert,
use WinKFP to flash 7601458 to the EGS,
then as we did not change the steering wheel, the paddles had to be coded out so using NCS expert so we change the value in the EGS from PADDLES = wert_01 to PADDLES = wert_00,
nothing had to be done with the steering as there was no sport button.

This got us S1, S2 ect showing up in the dash and the better shifts.

E70 Shift Paddles on steering wheel and SAT retrofit programming and coding

Hello everyone and im sorry for an ol' thread bump!
I have 2010 E70 (FF03 -US market) X5 35D (M57d30t2) WITH sport package and im trying to achieve:
#1 DCT Paddles (Left is minus, right is plus) retrofit - wiring is there since yesterday, learning about coding now! (I want to mention here that i'm not noob in programming and can easily use NCS, WinKFP or ISTA, BUT still learning...)
#2 SAT firmware or 2TB option!?
#3 I have extra shifter (GWS) with sport button also for my E70, wondering if it is even possible to add stiffer steering and even faster shifting in transmission when one is pressed???
#4 Stop "P" when open driver door (just killing me when parking in reverse in tight spots)

My own research to above desired questions:
#1 I've been reading a lot for the last few days and now im very confused, if this option was never in nature for my vehicle from BMW factory, how can I FAWrite GWS or KOMBI with 2TB option? Wouldn't Winkfp just not find the right firmware to WRITE for them two???
Update here: I’m leaning towards FAWrite to CAS and FRM option $2TB then factory code (*Clean .MAN file) Kombi, GWS and EGS modules! (have not done this yet, still reading still asking questions)

For question #2 - According to "GKE195.ATS" and the following vehicles have the same engine (not 100%sure about transmission) and they HAVE option 2TB:
2006-05 - 2010-01 EA71 635d Coupe M57D30T2 210kW Rear-Wheel Drive left Europe EA71;;2TB;7592148;SE
2009-10 - 2009-10 KK91 335d Coupe M57D30T2 210kW Rear-Wheel Drive left Europe KK91;;205;7595728;VS
2005-11 - 2009-12 NX91 535d Sedan M57D30T2 210kW Rear-Wheel Drive left Europe NX91;;2TB;7592134;SE

Is option 2TB automatically comes with SAT or is it the same thing? None of the Diesel M57 cars that i found had option 2TB with AWD system?

#4 I’m assuming there HAS to be an option for coding this in NCS, to DISABLE this stupid option but where GWS or EGS? I looked through them multiple times in dummy, the option must be not translated to English and I CANT figure it out by abbreviations!(

There were multiple retrofits on E6x platforms and very few on E7x's, here is the list where my questions were left unanswered (Proof that I did my search):
E70 - Retrofit Shift Paddles on steering wheel
Installed M steering wheel on LCI X5 35i
Sportautomatic (SAT) retrofit
2TB SAT Gear Shift Retrofit
