How did you ID a pre-LCI cluster just from looking at that photo?!?! I've done the LCI cluster retrofit and have everything working, but I want to learn your Jedi magic!

Hi Guys,

I'm just confused with one thing, so maybe someone could clear up.

The single wire which comes to the fuse Box in Pin 11.

IS there already a cable in the Pin 11? And if yes. HOW do I connect the Single Wire coming from szl to that cable? Just Cut it and fuse with the end coming to pin 11?

Whats with the other end of that cable then? Where is it coming from and won't it be needed anymore?

Thanks for clearing up!

I did this recently and wanted to share how I got it to work, I did this on an E61 535xi, no parts were changed, we left the stock shifter.

The process that worked in the end was this,

remove $205 and add $2TB to the CAS and LMA then run SG_Codieren on the KOMBI all with NCS expert,
use WinKFP to flash 7601458 to the EGS,
then as we did not change the steering wheel, the paddles had to be coded out so using NCS expert so we change the value in the EGS from PADDLES = wert_01 to PADDLES = wert_00,
nothing had to be done with the steering as there was no sport button.

This got us S1, S2 ect showing up in the dash and the better shifts.

I know its not the right forum but I have an X5 and trying to find SAT firmware that will work on it!)
This is my car according to Ista/d and bimmerarchive (Prod. Date 2009-12-13):
“ 2008-01-2010-02/FF03/X5/3.0sd/SportsActivityVehicle/M57D30T2/210kW/All Wheel-Drive/left/USA "

And this is ID of transmission and current soft:
( HW-7605219 SW-7608706 )
I did my research in "GKE195.ATS" file from "E89" Daten (version 60.1) files! It looks like GKE195.ats file from E70 looks the same, also im not sure if i should redownload any DATEN from other body styles that listed below and check this gke195.ats file in them for different information. Following body abbreviations from bimmerarchive.org i found only few vehicles that have the same M57 engine (NOT sure about transmission hardware part) that have 2TB option so im thinking they have SAT firmware. Still researching this hard.

2006-05 - 2010-01/EA71/635d/Coupe/M57D30T2/210kW/Rear-Wheel Drive/left/Europe
From GKE195.ATS file = “EA71;;2TB;7592148;SE”
2005-11 - 2009-12/NX91/535d/Sedan/M57D30T2/210kW/Rear-Wheel Drive/left/Europe
From GKE195.ATS file = “NX91;;2TB;7592134;SE”
Is option 2TB automatically comes with SAT? None of the Diesel AWD M57 cars that i found had option 2TB!!!?(

PLEASE advise.

Hello, sorry for bumping such an old thread, but I have problem. Car is a E60 525D LCI NX51, I try to install steering wheel with paddles which I've done before on 530xd and works like charm. BUT here is my problem: I updated EGS before starting with SP Daten v66. I ran the wires from the SZL to ground and to the connector in the Ebox, removed $205 from VO and added $2TB, coded kombi and EGS and the result is: When I press the GWS to D/S it returns itself to D and paddles not working neither on D or on D/S. Tried many combinations paddles wert00 to paddles wert02, tried updating the GWS and killed it, so got another one and the same thing. GWS returns to D when pushed to D/S and paddles not working. Can anyone confirm if its possible at all to get the paddles working on 525d lci? Or the problem is in me somewhere? Thanks.
P.S. When paddles set to wert00 in EGS the GWS does not return to D itself, but the paddles are not working either.

I don't think the 525d ever had factory fitted paddle shifters, so I could see it just not working.

You never describe which paddles your going with (DCT or SSG???) They are different! If im going to guess your doing this install on 8speed trasmission (which you also not indicated, whats wrong with you dude?)
By guessing and kinda knowing that if shifter goes back to D it means coding is wrong, so your best bet is to leave it in Wert_00 where its happy, you should look into one of the 3 main areas: resistors at paddles, your ground or both of the wires has to be going from paddles to mechanics! <THIS SENTENCE is very confusing but true since I don't know your full setup!
