Rear console power sockets .......
Decided to add some power sockets to the rear console as the car didn't come equipped. Picked up a genuine panel with two sockets and aux in, but am having some wiring issues.
Planned to run the sockets from an extension in the front, and have been testing the idea via a household adaptor (which allows a 12v car appliance to run off the mains). I then put a plug with an indicator light into the socket.
The oem panel's connector plug has three terminals. I thought it was standard +ve and -ve for the socket, and a feed to the bulb. Although the bulb gets powered on, the indicator on the plug does not. If I wire directly the plug does light up, just not through the oem panel.
Hope that makes sense?!?
Anyway, I'm obviously missing something.
Has anyone retrofitted the rear console sockets?
Any help or pointers much appreciated.
Cheers.
