My Ride: 2008 BMW 550i MANUAL carbon Black (for now)...
I bought Cool Carbon brake pads from Bavarian auto and now my car squeals like a bus. Stopping power is good but I hate the noise. Can anyone recommend good brake pads that do not squeal?

Hi,
I have 1 set left on the Hawk HPS. Low dust, great stopping power, and no squealing.
Front - $100
Rear - $75
Total - $175 shipped.
Let me know,
Michael

when the dealer changed my pads to stock pads they squeaked as well. took a while but eventually it stopped. although it was seriously embarrassing till it did.

Lol yes, it's very embarrassing, esp in a bimmer. They always squeaked a little, but I changed my rotors to r1 concepts last week and now they squeak more than ever. Do the pads just have to get used to the rotors?
Did you change them yourself? Have someone change them? Either way if you do not use the anti-squeal grease (available for a 50 cents a pack at auto parts stores) on the backs of the pads then you can expect squeal no matter what pads you use. In my years I have changed brakes more than 100 times on many different cars and no matter what no grease = squeaks.

I got them installed at a goodyear. So what if they didn't? I have to open the caliper up to apply the grease? Or can I do this without having to go through all that?
