Finally got the Aux input installed yesterday but not without problems. They kept car for 24 hours and did idrive upgrade to 15.1. Was at the dealer by the time they said it would be ready and immediately tried it once they brought the car around-no aux option in idrive. Tech said it was there but must have lost it when he did something??? He then hooked back up to the computer to reprogram and about 30 minutes later option was there. Still no sound. We talked some about what he did and I asked if he read my printout from this thread by Lenk http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=4668 He said no and finally proceeded to pull radio out and cut the original connector off that came with aux kit. By the end he had rewired the thing 3 times while I was standing around and 2+ hours after arriving the aux is finally working. It was after 7 pm at this time and he quickly rushes me out and quite frankly I was ready to go.

Soon after leaving I'm thinking the bass is pretty weak now. I've got bass but not like I remembered it. Barely having the car 3 weeks and with full expectations of problems with the aux install I am not sure if my perception of what was is just skewed.

My question is:
The post by Lenk states that bass output is in the connector where the aux is pinned into. I know for a fact the smaller connector (that is part of the much larger main connector) where the aux is now only has the 3 for the aux pinned in out of a total of 18 or 20 for that connector. Is this also correct for a Logic 7 system? I believe the woofers under the seat are working but certainly not quite like before-even for a CD.

Maybe its the 15.1 software?

I had the exact same problem on mine. But my problems were caused by trouble with the software upgrade on version 14.
My tech repeated the software update and the problems were gone.
It wasn't a hardware problem on mine, just software.

It happen to mine, too. Just talk to your SA and turn on any FM hiphop station. It's supposed to be alot of bass. If there is no bass, wrong pin connection.
