My Ride: 07 BMW 525i Premium Package, Xenon Lighting Package, manual Transmission. Titanium Grey, 20% Tint around the back, 70% V-Kool on front. Planned mods: Style 71 wheels with Toyo Proxy 4 tires, Sachs suspension upgrade, upgraded stereo, and many more to come.

how do you like the K&N filter? I am waiting for mine still for my 07 525i.
Btw, my 525i also has the charcoal filter which I took it off.

really, i wondered why pre 09/05 525/530 doesnt have it. the k&N sounded like more air was going in (probably my head telling me that) but I was satisfied. Good luck on your K&N

***DID ANYONE THROW AWAY THEIR OLD ORANGE FILTER b/c do you need it when you go in for service (warranty issues)??????

i would keep it just incase, you never know what they might say if they know you use aftermarket items and your car got messed up, if you did throw it away i would suggest getting it back

Sounds like it's a emission specific thing for 07 models in which they have to meet CARB, also seems to link to the reason that the 07 model year for US comes out in March...

I plan to keep my old orange filter just in case, heck, i even haven't toss out the charcoal one yet...

Keep it. I kept mine, but chances are, I won't be putting it back when I take it in for service. It's just a filter. Plus, I put the K&N sticker on my airbox. Lastly, K&N says their replacement filters do not void warranty servicing. This is probably not the case with their CAI's, but makes sense for basic air filters.
