Don't worry John, Eric is back!
He had ordered the CF side grilles from eBay.
As you can see they're not real carbon fiber, but they were pretty cheap. I can surely live with that. They're not OEM, so we'll see how's the fitment...

All right guys...
Not installing the fenders yet, unfortunately, but there's some progress anyway.
The CF grilles turned out to fit the fenders approximately 70%. They didn't hold in place very securely. Eric got mad of course, that's not news.
So, to calm him down I ordered a new set from SSDD-Motorsports UK (The CF set came from Germany). The SSDD guy assured that his product fits 100% so I pulled the trigger because his set was reasonably priced as well. He had only matte black grilles, though.
The package came today (the shipping was fast), and immediately when I opened it and got the grilles out, I was able to tell that their quality is much, much better than with those CF grilles. I tried installing them and the fitment was surely 100% . I'd bet they are as good as OEM.
Matte black:
I was browsing the web and didn't even notice that Eric got into it, again...
...and in a minute he had torn everything in pieces! The CF grilles AND the new matte blacks .
He was like a kid with his LEGOs, and it resulted in this:
His idea of combining the parts was interesting, and soon we were trying to fit the grille into a fender. And what do you know! It fits perfectly! I prefer the conditioning method with Eric and gave him a drink after his functioning invention .
The full matte black looks very good too, though. Now I just have to determine which one I want to use .

Good thinking, Eric. Tell him that I think the CF insert looks better IMO. All matte black looks kinda plain.
Can't wait to see the entire fender installed!
