Hi all!
A little question : from the standard bumper to the M5 bumper it is needed only the M5 bumper .
But from M tech to M5 ?

From M tech to M5 or from stock to M5, no difference, you deinstall what you do not need and install the new one.
PLZ remember: M5 on purpose has no foglights, and the airducts need to be modified, to bend each fenders with 10mm or get an M5 fenders.
They always say that the fenders do not need to be mod, I still do not believe it as facts are facts so recall memory from here:

The difference is about 20mm between M5 fender and stock e60 fender. Check the Owners manual. You can find both manuals here: http://www.e60.net/information. Scroll down to the bottom. If someone wants to put the original M5 front bumper on with stock fenders, they will have to roll each fender about 10mm.

I am quite curious how some e60s have fitted M5 bumpers without rolling fenders or buying wider fenders. I hope I can see a M5 bumper on an e60 in person one day so that I can do a side-by-side comparison with the M-tech bumper.

What I have put in the search "M5 fender" then please read through all amigo and you will see.
I saw many said "no modification was needed", but they forget to say if that was with M5 fenders or stocks...

and explain us. M-style also said they need to bend the fenders so other tuners, yes also mine

My understanding is that for a direct bolt on you need m5 fenders.
If you got a handy body work mechanic then he can make the m5 bumper fit on stock fenders.
These assumptions are based upon someone who lives in finland with stock fenders. Obviously us USA people cant call his local mechanic and be like "yo whats the deal".
If I am to spend money on an m5 bumper I better have a definite answer if this thing will bolt on with stock fenders or not.

My Ride: 545i
i have one M5 fender (meaning it had the hole for the grill) and one non M5 fender (no hole). they both were supposed to have the hole. parts were shipped from germany. looking at the fenders side by side they appeared to be exactly the same, just one with the hole and one without. if someone knows exactly how to measure the two id be more than happy. i bought my m5 bumper from quad_m. great guy, fast service!!

yes the M5 bumper is fine I dont know why some people see 10mm each side its like this big look:

its a challenge its so small any good body shop can handle it! thats what we are here for
enthusiasts make the thing work in our way arent we?? go for it dont be afraid its just a 10mm
