I received my MTEC V3 LED AEs I ordered from John@motorcepts today in the mail. After a quick wash I started the install. No tools needed. Just as John told me, these bulbs are truly plug and play. It took me about 1/2 a beer, and I was thirty. Here is a pic of a bulb prior to install.

I would rate this a 3 out of 10 for DIY (10 being hardest). I like they way they look. No they aren't HID supper bright, but I was just looking to get rid of the yellow color and get that white look. 1st mod complete. Next up the interior lights from John. Hope to complete this mod next week.

FYI - John @ Motorcepts was great to work with, Im sure that I was annoying with all my email questions before pulling the trigger on this mod and he answered each one. Thanks John

Photo after install with sun coming from right to left across front of car. You can see that the outer rings are not that bright and almost gone with direct sun.

Looks about same brightness as my LUX v3. The LUX does a better job with lighting outer rings. All 4 AEs look even at head on

I was choosing between the MTEC and LUX. Not unhappy with MTEC. If I seriously want more from the AEs I understand that Ill need to HIDs or Orion's. Since I have had this baby less than a month I didnt feel right cracking open the headlights..give me a few months of seeing F10s in the rearview and Ill be a champion of Orions or HIDs. Happy to get rid of the yellow.. .its a start.

To install the mtecs you dont need to pull the headlight. Just twist the dome out, pull the old bulb out, but the new mtec in and tuck the mini ballast inside the AE, then twist the dome back on. Pretty simple to do just the mtec's themselves.

If you need a video I could probably take one at my car on my iphone if needed.

Hey probably have pre-LCI headlights. It's not difficult to do AE bulb swap on LCI headlights since it's basically right there when you pop open the cap, but pre-LCI's are located at the bottom part and taking the headlights out will make it much easier.

Ah, ok. I was thinking of the LCI's as you state.
