Default LM2 upgrade

I have a pre-LCI car, but I'm thinking of upgrading my light control module to the LCI LM2 module so I can get angel eyes as DRL, welcome lights, etc. and potentially upgrade my headlights to LCI headlights in the future. But first I want to focus on the LM2 upgrade. Where do I start? Is there a specific one I need to get, or just search the part number? I'm sure after installation I have to re-code my vehicle correct? Some help and insight would be nice

I have a 07 550i non sport model and I'm looking for the same questions as you so if you don't mind I'll follow your thread as I search for a LM2 module

I think it depends on if you are upgrading to halogen or xenon lci headlights. I just checked ebay for a LM2 Xenon for E6X Model. It worked and I was happy

You would have to code the new LM2 to your vin as required.

My car already has xenon headlights, so I'm assuming I just need to find the LM2 module for xenon headlights? Whenever I upgrade my headlights, it would also be xenon, but that would not be until later on, don't want to shoot my budget right away as I've got other things in mind before then.

Do a google search for Light Control Module Retro Fit and you will find a PDF on Upgrading from LM1 to LM2. You will have all your answers there, including part numbers and instructions on how to remove and code your module. I got mine from ebay for $120.

Good Luck!

Yes, But if you have AHL it may require a little bit more work. I think you have to run wires from the AHL control module to the LM2, since the LM2 will replace the AHL control module.

I have pre LCI car and upgrade to LCI headlight non adaptive but still stuck with LM1. If I get an LM2 with Adaptive headlight, would it be an issue?

Shouldn't be any issues, You can code off the adaptive feature.

My headlights are not adaptive. I found the PDF online for upgrading to the LM2. Would it hurt the computer if I upgrade the module then code it about a day or 2 later? Because I have a friend who can do the coding.
