I just read on Road Fly that there's apparently a lighted iDrive controller (glows orange like the gauges). Does anyone know anything about this? I heard something that it may be available through the BMW Individual program??

There was a picture of that knob posted on one of the boards (don't remember which one) last summer. It was very very cool looking. One of the few add-ons that I would buy for the e-50

The shot I saw was from above in a darkened cabin and the knob had orange lights

This controller was on the "BMW Individual" E60 at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Since we don't have BMW Individual here in the US at all maybe some of the people in Germany or elsewhere in Europe can find out for us.

Obviously people outside of the US can order their E60's through "BMW Individual" and get the lighted controller, but can you guys in Germany or elsewhere find out from your dealers whether BMW Individual components (such as the lighted controller, etc.) can be ordered separately?....or do you have to order the whole car from Individual?

Thanks,
rodybmw
