My Ride: 55 525D Sport

got a 08 330d sport as a hire car at the momnent, and i noticed when you unlock it there are leds on each door handle on the outside
looks mint
can we put these 3 series door handles on our 5 series?
im guessing its just joined to the under door light circuit, and you just need to buy new door handles?
any one tried this

To start see if the 3-series door handle identical w/ our E60 as far as shape & size?
If not you might wanna consider retrofit puddle led light under the mirror instead.

This feature is cool...saw it on my 3 loaner and briefly thought about the same thing. Assuming the handle assembly is a perfect fitment match (which i would venture to guess no) , i would think it's a matter of somehow feeding off the side mirror led's but at that, their may not be enough current to drive all the led's.

handles are very similar i think
without having both cars next to each other i cant 100% compare

I just checked the door handles and No, it's not the same and will not work.
