does anyone know if we can change our handles for the ones with the LED's in them, I have a 3 series loaner and when you unlock it the door handles cast a white led light down the door, it looks excellent.

The E60 uses LEDs in the mirror housings to do the same thing. If you don't have those, you may be able to have them retrofitted...

I am not sure, but our cars have the awesome white lights down the external mirrors, which makes for an equally attractive sight, IMHO.

Why not, is a better question. You simply need to buy the relevant parts and know where to hook the wires up. I recently helped a guy on the forum to do this to his M5 mirrors. Taking power from the lights under the doors is the easiest solution.

Probably but they might not be able to be installed in the mirror without getting the appropriate mirror housing part...

Did you check http://www.realoem.com?

ugh i noticed this on my parent's friend's new 3 series and it had this. i felt kinda shameful because our pricier 2008 5 series doesn't even have ANY illumination when the doors unlock or when the door is open. nothing for our mirrors. ugh... stupid Canadian versions

Does the interior illuminate when you unlock it or open a door?
