Can you please guide me, what are the items that I need to retrofit from halogen to xenon, Is it simply plug and play?

Ballast, Ignitors, Bulbs, Headlights assy? Anything else? I think I need another adapter, but not sure

Please help

Thanks
Sorry I cannot help you. From what I've read, I heard the halogen to xenon is quite a task! I'm sure there are a few experienced members here that can answer your questions. You may want to search for "xenon retrofit" in this forum and come up with some threads. Earlier, I saw a current thread about a xenon retrofit: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=46512.

And a quick search yielded some more information:

Good luck and hopefully can get the xenon installed in your car.

A comparison of the LCI wires schematic and my pre-LCI 12/2003 built '04 car. Notice how the the 8-pins connector is exactly the same color for the left headlight. The right headlight is bit different. The smaller 4-pins wires are different colors compared to mines.

The difference between Euro and US specs taillight is the turn signal color. About the headlights I'm not too sure. From what i gather so far, the pins, connectors are standards for both headlights and taillights. For the headlights, only the pre-LCI wiring colors diagram is different if it is an older year before '05 production date. According to the document, a new light module is needed for car built before 09/2006. And more parts are needed for the headlights (control unit, xenon+ignition element, & lampholder for xenon) if the car comes with the older DS2 xenon bulb. Next week after this week's holiday, will take car in to the dealer for rear and light module. Then i'm going to install and pin the headlights in my time. I'll surely keep everyone posted!

Root,

My car has gone under the knife! Lets hope nothing goes wrong! They will start with the rear re-wire first and then do the headlamps.. I am supposed to be passing by later on today to see what has been done!

Any updates on your car?

Take care
M.

As I reported a while ago that BMW UK refused to sell me this kit but Justin from RoverActive took my order for the part. However Justin has just come back to me today telling me the same thing i.e. there is a technical problem with this part and so has been put on hold.

Root,

They managed to install the kit and did the recoding and now I am told that everything is functioning the way its supposed to. There is only one problem I am told - there is a small green light on the main lights switch inside the car that keeps flashing. This is the same green light that goes on when the lights switch is on Autolight.

They have tried so far everything and do not know why its flashing.

Do you know why this might be flashing when everything is working fine???

Regards,
M.
