Lci heated seats retrofit to 2008 lci e61

Hello all.

Im going to be installing full electric heated seats soon but wondering what’s involved.

Car is lci and the seats came from an lci car. I know coding is needed but is there any wiring that will need doing?

anyone done this?

thanks

Hi

I went from standard semi electric non heated to fully electric heated with memory a month back.

If your original seats are heated then i will be an easier job, if they aren't you will need to run some wires from the gateway module by the front fuse box to the seats, then some coding will need to be done.

You will also need the main power plug for the seat module, then some wiring modifications to the original loom the comes under the seats

Oh that doesn’t sound to bad. My seats are not heated but the new ones are.

I still I’ll have access to the car I removed them from so I could strip the wiring back to the gateway module and just remove the pins.

Thanks for rely👍

You only need to run 3 wires from the gateway module under the center console then split them off to each seat, would be quicker to make up a 3 wire loom and fit, than try and strip an OEM loom for the wires you need.

Do you happen to know the PIN numbers I need to find on the module and which plug?

What type of seats do you currently have fitted right now, it helps to know this first

Just basic non heated part electric. Not sure what plugs are under them. I’ve not taken them out yet.

You will have modules fitted to the new seats, all you will need is a power connector(8pin) and to run 3 wires from the gateway module. then a bit of swapping wires around from the original car to seat loom

The problem Im facing now there is big black/yelow plug in jack is the same , when I plug in nothing happens seats don't move. And there is a little plug in jack that dont look the same. Wire loom going to plug in jack is not the same. HI
Its been a long time since i have done this retrofit.

The black plug in your last photo is the power plug for your new seats, the large brown and red/green wire coming out of the black plug need to be connected to the brown and brown/red wires from your original yellow block connector. This is + & -

Also the black power connector has 3 thinner wires connected to it, i cant remember which wire goes where but they are for the heated seats, power for seat switches and memory button illumination.
This forum thread helped me out quite a lot
