My Ride: 2006 BMW 525XI
Default Installing subs

Hello, I have a 2006 525XI and I'm looking at installing 2 12 inch subs in my car, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this type of stuff and has recommendations on boxes, subs, or installation kits. If you've had a bad experience with anything please share as well! I have about $900 to work with so please let me know! Thanks!

Are you doing this yourself or a shop? Do you care to retain trunk space, because you can get really good sound just from 1 10"JL W7. I"m sure a lot of other guys has added subs to their car and can give you advice.

I added a sub to my car, but had to take it out because of baby. I ordered the Technic harness which made it super simple, plug n play almost.

Give us more details on your idea.

As Boost7 said we need to know more about your set-up, including which audio system you have, hopefully Hi-Fi. If you do, and you have $900 as a budget, I would check out the E90 classifieds (link below). There is currently an Arc Audio 1200.6 for $425. You could use that to power your front components and underseat woofers, then use remaining two channels for the trunk sub or subs (2 channels can be bridged).

You'll need a Technic harness to make that amp work, so figure $100 for that.

Then you should have $300 to get your sub and you'll have a banging system. Down the road you could upgrade your front speakers as well.
