HID Halo / Angel Eye Mod Idea (No cutting)
hey guys I've been on this forum for a while now but just recently made a profile.
I had an idea that I haven't put into place yet but thought Id see if you guys thought this would work.
As for many of us with out Orion's and cut headlights, the outer ring on the halos don't seem to light up as full/bright as the centre rings do.
Now my idea was retrofitting an HID kit with ballast in replacement of the
small cree LED bulb thats powering the halos currently.
The way the current bulbs light up arent designed to fully direct light into the outer rings.
My main concern here would be overheating of the HID's and some cutting to fit into place properly.
Do you guys think this would be possible, and that it might fully light up the outer halo with the brighter light being shot thru?
Thanks!

Over time the HIDs will yellow your rings... LEDs have the capability to be slightly brighter than halogen at night, but are the worst for even dispersion to the outer ring, especially in the daytime! I had the 10w Trinity AE's for almost 2 years, and one side went out recently. I researched and researched, and at the end of the day went with 7500K GP Thunder halogens in both the AEs and the fogs. For the money ($30 for 2 sets), it's hard to argue why you would pay more for LEDs. The GP Thunders are as bright as the stock halogens (brighter than the leds) and have only a slight bluish tint which is virtually indistinguishable against the xenons at night. During the daytime, there is no comparison. The GP's win hands down!
