My Ride: 07' 550i sport; Sapphire Black/Auburn; sport package; steptronic; navigation with R.T.T.I.; heads up; cold weather package; Logic-7; BMW MOST ipod kit; Motorola V3 snap-in adapter; rear heated seats and rear shades; anthracite headliner; sirrius sat. radio; M-aero kit; OEM style 166 Wheels with 245/35-19 front and 285/30-19 rear Michelin PS2s.
I have to believe its easier than you'd think. Its just an electrical signal, same as the shift lever, no? I wonder if you need a new wheel though? That could get expensive.
I just got my wife a 335xi with the sport auto and I could drive that car with the paddles 24/7. Its great! My 550 is steptronic but pre-LCI. I wonder if paddles can be added?

Yes. It can be added. If you're interested in the kit, please let me know.
If you have sport package with round airbag, you need to buy SMG wheel, paddles, and my kit.
If you have hexagonal airbag, you need to buy SMG wheel, paddles, airbag and my kit. Lots of members on this forum have gotten the kit.

My Ride: 2005 530i upgraded to 2007 550i 12/20/06
Took delivery of 2008 M5 3/25/08 cf delete K&N filters, the rest stock.
The paddle shifters are great with the Pre LCI Step Transmission. Fred's kit make it very easy to install.
PM for all the required parts for either the SMG paddles or the M5 paddles. Fred offers both kits.
