One of my pet peeves with my pre-lci E60 is that the center console and door cards where you rest your arms is made of hard plastic and is not really comfortable at all. Has anyone had an upholstery shop cover these parts with padded or puffy leather? If so how did this work out for you?

Another option would be to swap these parts from an LCI, would this be a direct swap or would it require major modifications? Are the LCI ones actually that comfy or just look like it?

I?m looking to spruce up the interior about while making it more comfortable at the same time.

Thanks for the feedback

I wasn't looking at getting BMW replacement parts. I wanted to take it to a shop and get them to custom recover it and maybe add some padding or something underneath so it is software when your arms are resting on it.

You should go visit those shops and look for physical sample to examine. A hear say cannot provide the information you need - IMO.

I was hoping that someone else on here would have tried this already to give me their feedback on the experience. Pics would be nice too

Also, for the people with LCI's, does the factory leather on the arm rest and door make it much more comfortable?

I am eventually planning to reupholster my seats and part of the door panels. I have black leatherette and want an auburn color leather. I have been trying to locate the seats for replacement but have been unsuccessful. We will see how it goes.
