My Ride: 2004 BMW 530I steptronic, Orient Blue, Dakota Black Leather, Finishers Aluminium with Wave Cutting interior, NAVIgation, Radio PROFESSIONAL, CD in-dash, Hi-Fi extended sound system, PDC system, Bi-Xenons lights with washers, cruise-control, heated seats, Extended AC, auto"shade" mirrors, auto lights sensors, rain/wiper sensor, M-tech leather multifunction steering wheel, side airbags rearseats, sliding armrest, smoker's package (I don't smoke!), velour floor mats, spare wheel and jack, 122 style rims winter setup, M135 style rims summer setup [color=red]Mods:[/color] [color=blue]M tech sport steering wheel with M5 SMG paddles working retrofit done ! Trunk lid opening button retrofit done.[/color] [color=blue]3M window 35% tint done Chrome grilles E60.net Clings [/color]

I know that this has been discussed here a lot and YES, I did search. But all topics related to exchanging the front grill seems to be done or US spec car.

I want to exchange the grill on mine, Euro spec car with the cover flaps behind grill. Those flaps are in my way. They cover over the top part of the brackets of the grill.

Can anybody help? Rudy, Iceman some TIS page maybe????

OK, edit.... the flaps are not such problem. I can get over and thru those with a long screwdrive. So the only problem are the damn side and bottom clips of the grill. No way the thing comes out.

this has been explained many times before. Those come on european gasoline engines. Those flaps are closed to keep the engine warm when cold, and when the engine gets hot they open and allow air to flow and cool the engine....

We don't have those in HK, the weather here is not cold enough for those things. But I still couldn't access the grill area to change the chrome grill.

this is not funny anymore. I've spent 2 hours with that damn thing and I just can't get the side and bottom clips out. No way. I push them, pull them, nothing.....Big screwdriver, small one, nothing.... I guess I will just brake the damn old grill in order to get it out

Bunbun's MY03 520i (HK spec) has it. Not sure what makes BMW to put it in and when did they took them off.
