E61 Roof Rack Cross Bar Options
Any one know of good cross bars to use with the factory roof rails? Looking for a 2007 530xi. I have both types, with and without overhang - Thule AeroBlade. While the setup w/o overhang does look more integrated, lower profile, etc., I find the one with overhang much more functional. The overhangs serve as extra loading space when I'm carrying two kayaks, easier to tie down. In winter I carry multiple pairs of skis in the top box, and I always put the skis on the overhang before I stand on the doorsill and arrange loading into the box. Same when unloading as well, I never have to half-jump with the skis in my hands. My box is fairly wide, so I cannot do that when the flush mounts.
