Default E61 535d Paddle shift mod.

Hi everyone,

Took my airbag off today today to swap the left hand paddle to do down on pulling towards me and up on pushing away. Straightforward according to threads on other forums.

Simple swap wires going in to pins one and three in a three pin plug, only thing is, I've got a four wire plug, different colours either side too, threads suggest they're all black.

Help!..

1st picture is left hand switch, steering wheel is turned over to remove air bag.

2nd picture is right hand side.

The plug I've removed has numbers 1-4 on, tried to get multimeter on to check connections but it was too awkward.
Thanks

you're better off looking on WDS, it has the colour codes for each wire

WDS BMW Wiring Diagram System - Model Selection

Brown is most likely ground though, so that should get you started...

Thanks for the link, tried three computers so far and I get java issues and I've tried updating it and it always checks version and it's out of date.

Got a diagram up before it updated but I couldn't zoom into read it, after it updated can't even do that.

Could anyone do me a screen dump of the paddle shift for 2008 lci?

Not sure now, there was a section with paddle shift, under steering wheel I think. Can't even see the hierarchy list so I can pick from there.

Thanks

Got the wiring diagram to work now but there is so many places to look, I cannot find the reference for the two four pin paddle shift connectors.

Found the ones for the M5, they are three pin connectors and make sense.

Help?!?
