Gentlemen, I just installed a Dension 500 into my 2009 restyled e60 and friggin LOVE IT!

I want to take it one step further and install an Video adapter for a possibility to play videos on the screen.
The problem is i have a regular screen (MAST?) and not a bigger NAV-screen.

Would the Dension 500 + Video adapter play videos on my regular screen?

AFAIK Dension AVR module require TV option to be enabled in the iDrive which is not available for US market.
If your objective is to get video input might as well use http://modmynav.com/interface.html (chk out the blog & gallery).

GL!

I'm from Europe. Is there a chance that i have a TV option in my i-Drive if I didn't order this option?

It's European option is what I'm trying to say ... over there the OEM module is available and they understand what is for but here not so much.

Easiest option would be to go with the dension avr unit, but you will need the tv option coded. It should work on your screen, check densions website

If not go with multimedia add on as said above.

Go to a local BMW independant garage ask if they have autologic and see if the option comes up if it does pay them to code it and away you go..

In the us if anyone has ncsexpert it should ne possible to code, even with autologic or similar as they sell the avr unit there unless its only possible with the bigger screen

I have the same question, will the AVR work on 6.5" MASK without nav? Has anyone tried and succeded?
Emailed Dension and they said that if my iDrive has green FAKRA connector it should be fine (don't want to take the car apart just check) so does anyone know if every iDrive has that?
Also according to other posts around here it should be fine as the car is EU spec and TV can be coded with Autologic.
See page 13 of the Autologic guide attached, I want to go for Dension 500 + BTA1500 + AVR, so I should code option Gateway 500 TV_TEL right?
