You need to get an LCI IHKA probably and reroute a wire from your pre LCI harness accordingly. There is a discussion on this thread with some colleague which retrofitted CIC with LCI IHKA on his pre-LCI car and his fans would run at high speed without interruption and also the A/C compressor wouldn't kick in. After he analyzed the wiring of both pre-LCI and LCI , he came to know there are some differences in connections.

Do a search on Pin 21 on this thread. I have a pre-LCI but installed a LCI climate control. I didn't do the coding though.
Edit: Doh! Never mind. I misread the post.

Now comes the fun part! Pull the parking brake handle forward to loosen it from the metal lever. Now pull it as hard as you can to set the brake. You can now begin to lift the center console as shown here:
You will now want to reach in and undo the connector for the iDrive controller. Continue lifting up and the consoler will clear the parking brake lever and can be removed. Here's a shot with it removed showing the iDrive connectors on the passenger seat:
Backseat shot showing the entire consoler area:
You should now have the following collection of pieces removed from the car:
Here's the backside of the console with the iDrive controller still attached:
Here it is again with the controller removed:

Reconnected in car:
Nelson, does the new iDrive controller have 2 connectors on it that looks like it will accept the wires you see in the shot above?
So that's pretty much it for removing the console. Once the new controller gets here next week, I can begin trimming the for the new iDrive.
Finally, here's a shot of the patient under the knife:

E60 530i CIC & Combox upgrade mic problem
Hi all, wondering if anyone could help me with a mic problem. I recently purchased CIC, combox & multimedia controller overseas precise to my VIN, everything works great, the only problem I have is my mic connection. The wires connected to the mic are white/green & white/red, when I connect the same colours including the shield to the combox I have no mic on my calls. I’ve pulled out the glove box to see if I had that plug that needs the wires switched and no plug. I’ve traced the wires to the cluster block in the head unit but don’t know where they go from there. Next to the mic is another plug tucked away with brown/white & white wires, I connected these at the combox and mic works on calls. The problem is now I can’t use the voice recognition button. Does anyone have a solution?
I know I should have followed the pin out diagram from the start but I made a huge mistake when moving pins from 54 to 26 pin plug and confused the whole project and then had to follow correct pin outs using wire colour codes

Picked up a Combox Telematics Media BN2010, part number 925715301 will this work on my car E60 M5 2010? I wasn't sure if I needed to get the BN2000. My buddy has the Combox Telematics BN2000 installed on his E60. Does anyone know?
