My opinion on chrome wheels would be a BIG ..........and that opinion would be the same whether your car was black, white, green, pink , or invisable.

There are many nice wheels out there (the 166 being one of the better ones) with different design elements, but chroming them hides or distorts many of the design details and in a way make them all look similar. It also makes the car look cheaper (in my opinion) because most of the cars that I see with chrome wheels are older and lesser cars (most...NOT all).

Anyways......just my opinion.

Yeah, I wasn't to happy with the chrome on my car, but I got used to it. Charles suggested the chrome and I went for it. I think its ok depending on what wheels you get. Frankly the deepdish chrome doesn't look to bling bling to me.

I would have been happier with polished as opposed to Chrome. Oh well

Hey Adrian, are you still switching your chrome wheels out for black ones?

Not anymore......Its too much of a hastle. I did want to paint them maybe, but that is too much of a hastle as well. Remove wheels from car. Have tires dismounted from the rims. Bring rims to the powder coating shop. Have rims re-mounted and re-balanced. etc.....

I want the rims you have on your car.... hehehehehhee I'm still up for a trade though if someone wants to trade....change it up a bit....

I still post on E46fanatics and boy do I get clowned. They hate chrome over there, they do however love the 4.75 inch lip in the rear

Machined finish is also nice......

How about just putting your stock wheels back on while they paint your Mayas? Wheel Techniques will do all the work for you (mount, balancing..etc..)

Not sure. Give them a call, 408-496-6363.

I also need to bring my stock wheels to them to fix some curb rashes so I can sell them.

Looks good Ruthless. I'm looking at doing the same with my E60 sytle 124 rims. Where did you get your 166 rims?

remuse,

Hey man, do whatever makes you feel good about YOUR car. I have had many people tell me that chroming my 166 Wheels would be a bad idea. But you know... to each, his own. Get my drift? Here are a couple of pics of how they look on Sapphire Black. Either way man, it's ultimately a good decision, due to the look of the 166 Wheels.

Anyone out there with chrome 124s on a black E60? If so I would like to see some pics. I'm trying to choose between style 124 and 166.
